At Concierge Medicine of Boca Raton, we provide primary care in a concierge medicine model in Boca Raton, Florida, and surrounding areas. More people are now turning to concierge medicine instead of the traditional style of industrialized medicine for many reasons, especially for the personalized relationship that develops between physician and patient. If you would like more information about concierge medicine and how it can benefit you, take a look at some of the most frequently asked questions about our practice.
Concierge medicine is a type of medical practice where the physician spends more time with each patient and their specific needs. It’s designed to emphasize the highest possible quality of healthcare, including convenience and service, to keep your health at an optimal level.
Concierge medicine places an increased emphasis on each individual patient to provide the highest standard of care. In a typical, insurance-based practice, a physician panel is on average 3,000 patients. With concierge medicine, the number of patients is limited to several hundred. This increases appointment times so all of your questions can be answered in a single visit and it also improves access to your physician. As healthcare costs continue to soar, both patients and physician practices have suffered. Our practice is able to see a dramatically reduced number of patients — resulting in more personalized care, greater access, and a true medical home for patients.
Our concierge membership is for patients who want premium service, with 24/7 access and unlimited visits with Dr. Prickett. All basic primary care services are included in the annual concierge membership fee. Dr. Prickett provides her personal cell phone number to concierge patients, advocates for them in an ER and hospital setting, and will even go to a patient’s house for appointments.
Our DPC membership is for patients who want enhanced access to a medical provider, but for a more affordable annual fee. Each visit and service is a separate transparent fee. DPC members receive enhanced access during normal business hours.
Both concierge and DPC memberships are modeled without the interference of the insurance companies. While most insurance-based physicians will see an average of 4 patients in an hour, a concierge physician or DPC provider will see just one patient an hour. This additional benefit allows for our providers to have the time needed to provide better healthcare to their patients. Through both healthcare models, patients can get the help they need to improve or maintain their health.
Comprehensive Physical
Your yearly, comprehensive physical is vital for your health and wellness. While it allows us to follow ongoing, chronic medical conditions, it also is an opportunity to detect abnormalities early and even prevent disease.
Preventive Care
Have you heard that it is easier to prevent disease than it is to treat it? Preventive medicine involves a “whole body” approach to medicine, specifically, focusing on the whole patient and the many factors that play a role in their health.
Care Coordination
Your primary care physician is the “quarterback” of your health. Whenever you need to see a specialist, we seek out the best one for your specific needs and schedule the appointment on your behalf. We also “close the loop” and follow up with the specialist to solidify your medical plan of care.
